FESTIVAL REVIEW: Stanfest
Newfoundland’s the Fortunate Ones was the first act out of the gate on Friday, and the duo of Andrew O’Brien and Catherine Allan acknowledged the work and dedication that went into getting Stanfest back on its feet for 2015.
“It’s an honour to be the first performers on this stage this year, we were supposed to be here last year and we were so sad when they had to cancel,” said O’Brien, who joined Allan in some bracing harmony.
Singing tunes from their debut The Bliss, the Fortunate Ones focused on the positive and the benefits of being faithful and determined, perfect traits for Stanfest organizers and attendees.
